{"id":643,"date":"2017-08-29T22:55:27","date_gmt":"2017-08-29T20:55:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.keenlab.de\/?p=643"},"modified":"2017-09-10T12:17:38","modified_gmt":"2017-09-10T10:17:38","slug":"kweld-power-supply-recommendations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.keenlab.de\/index.php\/2017\/08\/29\/kweld-power-supply-recommendations\/","title":{"rendered":"kWeld power supply recommendations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This post will be regularly updated with new results that have been collected by me, and also by my <em>kWeld<\/em> customers.<\/p>\n<p>The following high current power supplies have been tested with the <em>kWeld<\/em> system and can be recommended:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Turnigy nano-tech 3S\/5000mAh\/130C Lithium Polymer battery (<a href=\"https:\/\/hobbyking.com\/en_us\/turnigy-nano-tech-5000mah-3s-65-130c-lipo-pack.html\">link<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/hobbyking.com\/en_us\/turnigy-battery-nano-tech-5000mah-3s-65-130c-lipo-pack-xt-90.html\">link<\/a>). I have stress tested one of them for several complete discharge cycles, and it shows no visible swell thereafter. The measured current is 1300-1500 amperes.<\/li>\n<li>Ultracell UXL65-12 (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ultracell.co.uk\/datasheets\/uxlseries\/UXL65-12.pdf\">link<\/a>). According to feedback from a user, the current reported by <em>kWeld<\/em> is approx 1000A when tested with 0.15mm nickel strips.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>IMPORTANT: Lithium Polymer batteries are potentially dangerous. If they fail internally, they can spontaneously self-ignite. It is therefore strongly advised to permanently supervise them during use and also while charging them, and to store them in a fire safe container when not using them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This post will be regularly updated with new results that have been collected by me, and also by my kWeld customers.
