This housing is available as an accessory to the kWeld kit. It provides adequate protection against unwanted electrical contact to the circuit, which may otherwise destroy the welder. Therefore it is highly recommended to protect your kWeld with a suitable housing.
The housing is delivered in kit form with all required parts. It is made from transparent acrylic glass, giving the welder a great look as well.
To assemble this kit you need a suitable glue, like Pattex transparent.

The kit you’ll get doesn’t look quite like this so the instructions are a little confusing (mostly just figuring out what parts go where since they all look different from the photos, but the overall shape is the same, and the gluing tabs are still where they should be). Use thick glue, wear gloves, and have a right-angle tool nearby to make sure all the corners are nice. The unit can be removed from the bottom of the case once assembled (in order to replace the fuse or tighten any lugs for example), so just glue it together as shown in the instructions and you’ll be fine. It really looks great on the final unit, and helps to keep stray materials from touching any of the battery or circuitry connections, which at these amperage levels would be catastrophic! Either this or the 3D printed case is a MUST!! Protect your investment, and keep the crap off your expensive welder! [Maryland, USA]
